Nintendo outright cut the only lesbian relationship out, copy pasted the straight one, and completely altered her character. Removed the content, removed the development, the nuance, everything. It just doesn’t exist anymore.

It’s a very long support chain that they cut out. It’s an explicit case altering a character and removing content.

Consumers should know what was altered in the localization before buying the game. Those that did buy it should know what they missed out on thanks to Treehouse’s abysmal job at localizing this game.

“Hey kids, nothing says representation like having a literal single same gender pairing possible per game! Oh, you wanted a M/M pair but you picked Hoshido/Birthright? Well, you can buy the other game as DLC in game! It’s equality as in “equals more money!”

Like yeah, Hardin as a villain is completely outta nowhere. But yeah I consider FE4 the Shadow the Hedgehog of the series essentially because while it had some interesting mechanical ideas on paper, it really feels like the execution made everything just completely more over the top dark and edgier than it needed to be.

And words cannot describe how pissed I was at the end of chapter five. Like, if a DnD campaign is considered absolutely terrible for pulling what happened in Ch5, then Iunno. While the story is kinda a flat improvement/iteration of FE1 (run around, unite the continent, stab an asshole), it really lays on the whole “AH YES LET’S KIDNAP CHILDREN AND FORCE THEM TO MURDER EACH OTHER!” thing obnoxiously thick.

I don’t know, I guess in the end I might just be a little sad because with the limitation of FEFatesFaceRubbing™ to married pairs that removes a lot of gay options that intrinsically came with the feature. Now the way to get around that is either by *misgendering myself* or S-rank a single determined character.

Iunno, as someone who is ‘a gay’ this coulda probably been fixed by literally just removing it completely or making more gay pairings available. But now it just seems like a flat exclusion of sexual identities.

Did someone start a petition for Nintendo to ‘increase the gay in their titles yet? Because representation is good.
