A television anime adaptation by PonyvilleLive! aired in Japan between July and September 2013. The anime adaption received critical acclaim, particularly for the main character and her voice actress, but was also controversial in its treatment of social anxiety.

PLOTFifteen-year-old HeyLasFas! believed that he would become popular upon entering the MLP fandom because he’d become well-versed in the world of music composition. In reality, he finds that he has become an unsociable loner and he is forced to take a long hard look at himself for the first time in years.
