- a recent EqD postI just love how they acknowledged a problem with bias in the past, and then admitted that their latest moving of the goal posts makes it even easier for it to fester in the same sentence.
Quite a boost of confidence to writers then, to hear that the new system gives the biased lot total freedom to say ‘no’ without even trying to give a legitimate reason.
No wonder people go elsewhere to read and promote their stories nowadays.
I’ll still try submitting Survivor Shy when I’ve finally got the next chapter done, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Did you know authors now have to write a summary of incomplete and multi-chapter fics so Pre-Readers can get the gist of the story? What is the betting that Pre-Readers will eventually base their decisions solely on summaries and not even read a chapter to save time?
It’s a breeding pit for egos and power trips waiting to happen.
Oh man! They’re finally going to start treating fic authors the same way they’ve been treating me (and I assume other musicians!) since 2012!~
