Of all the musical things in the world, I have two favourite songs/pieces/etc. above all else.

The modern one would be “I. Someone Like Him" from Octavarium by Dream Theatre.

The classical one would be “Piano Sonata No. 14 in C# Minor" by Ludwig van Beethoven. Moonlight Sonata.

Yup.

There’s a hell of a lot of things that I like else, and damn if I’m not passionate of them. Those two pieces though are easily my top.

My first college roommate used to play Dream Theatre every morning, but somehow, I never heard that song before. Sounds pretty good; I’ll listen to the entirety of the Octavarium piece once I get back from class.

And of course I’ve heard Moonlight Sonata before. Wish I could separate it from the Bugs Bunny cartoon. Pop culture has made it hard to truly appreciate Beethoven’s work, despite its constant glorification of the man.
