Considering at this point in time I don’t think there’s ever been more than 10 progressive pony songs…
No.
I think Tarby, Lasfas and I are the only ones who do progressive rock in the pony fandom. The recent additions are getting there but the only other really progressive song I’ve seen is by Secret Metal (progressive metal!)
It’s not a popular style and even what I offer is not nearly as progressive as Dream theater, *Frost. I think Tarby’s offerings for the most part were not considered because of the lyrical content and the one song he’s most known for other than Something Broke is Rejected which is industrial.
And lasfas is most known for Up Her Sleeve which is guess is progressive electro but still not Top 10 listy.
And no one makes progressive house sound good for the short attentionspan of the general audiences of anywhere so…
yay Genres and public tastes!
I think progressive is more “conceptual” than it is “ear candy”, and some ponies prefer to get immediate joy rather than actually try to decipher the meaning.
Sort of like abstractionism in visual art does, well, not so much. I think there was a song by General Mumble that was actually abstract, it sounded real creepy.
Yea.
I completely agree.
Which is why i think my fans aren’t a pile of silly poop ,3
It’s odd, what I’m most known for is Up Her Sleeve, even though it is possibly the absolute furthest outlier in all my works.
I write those conceptual albums that make people want to cry though terrible stereo mixing dynamically written motifs and characters.
You guys are cooooool!
