As a listener, I just feel over whelmed by how much stuff is out there now, and also how little don't seem that great. Its like fanfics now, there way too much to catch up on. And too much of it also seems like random EDM or remixes. Theres not enough (good) original songs with lyrics.

Well I can definitely say for sure that lyrics are not what makes a good song, there is a lot more to it than just people singing. But you are definitely right about it being over-saturated with poorer quality content. I experienced that first-hand when I used to run the prelistiners.

But what you say pretty much sums up what I felt, that listeners just don’t want to go out and find new music anymore.
