Exactly, exactly. We were given a whole new dimension with two entirely new character identities and also the first example of princess Twilight. We were given something new but none of that felt like it… mattered. At least, had any meaningful impact like most events from the show.

I completely understand, given the constant reminder that Equestria Girls is purely a spin-off and has no influence on MLP:FiM. It’s damn hard to have meaningful character development if the slate gets written clean by the end, but I still can have discrepancies. The film was simultaneously too short with relevance and too drawn out with semantics.
