Did you know I can only think of four things at a time? Right now I'm thinking about the number 77, time signature metered time signatures, cute anime characters, and a haircut.
No seriously, feel free to talk to me for whatever reason. Askbox is always open as well as Skype.

Once again, I really hate the “git gud” kinda mindset that sprouted from the Souls series, mainly because the game isn’t specifically “difficult” but rather more challenging your thinking. Without spending too much time on this, it’s like the difference between lifting a 250 pound weight and beating a puzzle game. A lot of strain comes directly from the action of lifting the 250 pound weight, unless you straight up are capable to lift it, but a puzzle game can be really tough the first time through but when you understand the solutions, the game becomes significantly easier. If you played Portal through to its completion the very first time in your life and then replay Portal from the top immediately after you would understandably breeze through it, or at least be significantly faster. The exact same thing comes from the Souls series. If you play the game through to its end, and then immediately make a new character and start from the top again, you’ll breeze through it or be significantly faster in the exact same way that you would in Portal. That’s why I never understood why people called the series “Difficult” or hailed its difficulty, for there is a larger intersect of my enjoyment in the Souls series in the same way I had enjoyed the Portal series. |

When it comes to Dark Souls and easy mode, do you have any thoughts on the idea/arguments that "From Software should broaden its scope so that less skilled players can enjoy the story", that "everyone would win if there was an easy mode", and that "games are meant to be fun"?

it’s totally okay to not play video games! it seems that people kinda forget this and that there’s always a driving force to make certain games “mandatory reading” or something! |
