Okay, I fiddled around with the rhythm and the instrumentation.

‘What’s different’, you might ask?

• Ambient Bass length
• The Lead Bass rhythm (Now with 20% more WUB)
• The Drum kick pattern (slightly…)
• The Lead Instrument. It’s either more annoying or more awesome!

So, how do you guys like the new lead bass? Especially the WUB-y part. (Y'know, at 0:25). I think it came out pretty well, but that’s just manic ol’ LasFas. How about you?

And that’s enough for tonight.

Tweaked the bass, added another three layers, one of derms, one of wompy bass and one of altered chimes. Yay!

I’m such a flip-flop. PRIORITY SHIFT AGAIN

This time to Once. Opening up my music composition software was a drastic event. (thanks internet blackout) Holy crap, everything just became feasible. I have to break it in a little more, namely with Once.

What’s different about this update than all my other k'vetching? I’m labeling an official date. I work better with deadlines.

First. Nightfall is going on hold. DO NOT BE ALARMED! More Nightfall work will continue in about a week or two.

Why?

INSPIRATION. FROM A STORY. (oh boy how original)

So much inspiration, that I already have it all complete in my head. Here’s some details. Let’s not give away too much, though.

• Should be about 8-12 minutes
• Three parts.
• Instrumental.
• I accidentally the meter, now the Time Signatures are all derp.
• Eb tuning. An interesting key I had never worked with before.

But seriously. Time Signatures. During part 2, the verses entail one measure of 7/8 and one measure of 4/4. Wouldn’t that make the verse a form of 15/8? Oh man, I know nothing of musical theory don’t I?

The post-choruses entail one measure of 5/4 directly preceding one measure of 4/4. All this was on accident, I swear!

Man this piece is going to be really messed up.

Hope to record part of it within the next couple days, as well as finish it in two weeks time. Then back to Nightfall.

This is epic o.o what tuning is that?

I downtune all my instruments to C to open up a couple more keys lower into the guitar (‘cause I love my deep bassy notes). This particular section (as well as the entirety of Nightfall derp) is in C# or Db tuning.

for some backstory - That’s me, DerpyGrooves, Jackle App, Catsmilly, the dude catsmilly was with (can’t think of his name for the life of me) and fooz (drawn as futashy fluttershy). This was essentially what happened both the night before and the night after bronycon - booz, jamming, etc etc. Some of the most fun i’ve had in a while, hanging with some REALLY great people (not in the photo are EHT, Alex S, Omnipony, LasFas, Supersaw Hoover, and one other dude who’s real name i know but who’s username/pony name completely escapes me).

seriously. That was fucking incredible, and I can’t wait for the next opportunity to do it again. 

That was one crazy night, even if I wasn’t there for the booze after we all went to get food. All of you were fucking awesome! Totally hope there’s another party like this at broNYCon Four. Especially because it lasts for two days.
