i haven’t had the need to go into music theory that much thank u
I’ve taken classes in music theory and have played multiple instruments and I can’t remember the note names to scales by heart.
(actually every scale basically has the same relation between notes so you can easily feel it out)
Learning some music theory I think should be encouraged, but the education is not all that necessary to make good music. imo, what musicians really need is a good ear, and have some ear training. Being able to listen and figure out a melody / chord progression / rhythm / etc. by ear and being able to write it down somehow can be very helpful.
No no. Every musician needs music theory.
If you don’t know music theory you can’t make music.
Because I paid shit ton of money on music theory and I need something to justify that payment.

It’s cool that people know it and use it and etc. but like
I always felt it to be very very limiting. That might have been my teacher.
