VSTs and instruments alike are tools.

Neither of which are inherently good or bad, and to hold judgement against one is limiting to the potential that that tool could be used for. Just because someone uses a specific tool does not imply the quality of the musician, it is the methods and passions that are given to these tools that bring about good art.
